The project

Scouting, research and new ideas for entrepreneurial innovation

M.E.S.H. – MAReA meets Enterprises and Start-up in Hub promotes pathways aimed at creating highly innovative startups, stimulating new entrepreneurial insights through engagement with scientific and technological knowledge developed by universities and public research centres in the Campania Region, coordinated by the MAReA Public-Private Laboratory. The programme stems from an analysis of innovation demand and the industrial needs of the local area, with particular attention to the agro-industrial and biotechnology sectors, in which MAReA coordinates research and technology transfer projects in Italy and abroad. The aim is to offer a concrete opportunity for knowledge-sharing and dialogue between the research world, businesses, young talents and institutional stakeholders. The project is structured around three days of thematic in-depth sessions dedicated to innovation as a basis for new entrepreneurship. The meetings involve students, graduates, undergraduates, young trainees, researchers, businesses, public administrations and professionals, fostering “cross-skills opportunities” and cross-fertilisation between scientific expertise, industrial needs and business culture. The activities take place at the Department of Pharmacy and the Department of Agriculture of the University of Naples Federico II, as well as at the “Saverio Nitti” Upper Secondary Education Institute. Through M.E.S.H., MAReA aims to strengthen dialogue between public research and the production system, promote the creation of new entrepreneurial ideas and enhance the entire agro-industrial supply chain: from the primary sector to processing, from packaging to distribution. The project thus contributes to spreading a culture of innovation focused on business creation and the development of new opportunities for young people and aspiring entrepreneurs.
