New Jedi promotes a more sustainable food delivery model through the training of a new professional figure, the Food Delivery Expert, capable of integrating environmental, logistical, food-related and digital skills in the Ho.Re.Ca. sector.
New Jedi – NEW Job European Alliance in Green Delivery was created to respond to the growth of the food delivery sector and the resulting increase in environmental impact linked to single-use packaging, transport, order management and operational practices in the catering sector.
The project promotes a more sustainable approach to delivery, in line with European priorities on the environment, the fight against climate change and the adaptation of vocational training to the new needs of the labour market.
The main objective is the definition and testing of the Food Delivery Expert, a professional profile capable of supporting companies and operators in the Ho.Re.Ca. sector in adopting more environmentally and economically sustainable solutions. The training pathway developed by the project integrates skills related to logistics, packaging, delivery menu organization, communication, sustainability and service management.
The activities included the collection and dissemination of good practices in sustainable food delivery, dialogue with sector stakeholders through roundtables and workshops, the design of a VET course in MOOC format, local training pathways and mobility activities abroad with companies active in the sector. The project also involved young people and NEETs, with the aim of improving their employability through new skills that can be used in a rapidly changing market.
MAReA coordinated the project, contributing to the management of activities, the development of the European partnership, the creation of the training pathway and the dissemination of results. Through New Jedi, the partnership worked to build a European network of organizations, companies and stakeholders interested in the green transition of food delivery and in the enhancement of new professional profiles in the training and catering sectors.
The project has completed its activities and the official website is no longer online. Visit the MAReA project archive to discover other experiences, results and European collaborations.
