QUASAR promotes the internationalization of Campania’s agri-food and advanced packaging supply chain, enhancing research, innovation, food safety, sustainable materials and cooperation with foreign partners.
QUASAR – QUAlity and Safety of Food Products from the Campania Region and their production processes was created to expand, consolidate and strengthen Campania’s research cooperation networks at international level, with a particular focus on the agri-food sector. The project aims to enhance Campania’s high-quality productions by combining innovation in production and processing processes with advanced quality control and food safety systems.
The programme starts from an analysis of the needs of agri-food companies and the enhancement of the expertise of institutions, industrial operators and research facilities. The technological foresight activities are aimed at identifying development trajectories for the companies involved, with particular attention to the recovery of bioactive ingredients for the formulation of new nutraceutical and cosmeceutical products, sectors that are growing strongly in international markets.
The core of the project is the dissemination of low-environmental-impact technologies to enhance products and by-products of Campania’s agri-food sector, fostering a shared process with foreign partners capable of generating new local and international networks. QUASAR also aims to promote technological solutions to improve food safety and protect consumers, through the identification and reduction of anthropogenic contaminants, such as pesticides and related catabolites, and non-anthropogenic contaminants, such as mycotoxins.
MAReA participates as the proposing organization and lead partner, coordinating the internationalization pathway of the supply chain and making available its experience in advanced materials, biotechnology, agroindustry, technology transfer and international cooperation. Through QUASAR, MAReA aims to strengthen the competitiveness of the regional innovation system and create new opportunities for scientific, industrial and commercial collaboration with foreign partners.
The project has completed its activities and the official website is no longer online. Visit the MAReA project archive to discover other experiences, results and European collaborations.
